Taff – Being ex-forces,
everyone referred to me as ‘Taff’ as I am Welsh, and it stuck from there
on really.
What did you
do before Select Lifestyles?
I spent 20 years in the Army, 18 years
jumping out of planes for a living and spent 15 years in the care
industry working with children with challenging behaviours. I also lived
in Hong Kong, Germany, spent 6 months in Africa.
What’s your
role within Select Lifestyles?
I’m the new Mandatory Trainer, taking over
all the mandatory training courses such as – Health and Safety, First
Aid, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety and so on. This will give Wayne more time
to concentrate on the care related courses that we have to deliver to all
of our staff.
What do you
enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I really enjoy watching documentaries, any to
do with history, the military or crime.
I absolutely LOVE karaoke, so much so that
one year my wife bought me a karaoke machine. My go-to karaoke songs are
‘Great balls of fire – Jerry Lee Lewis’ and ‘thinking out loud – Ed
Sheeran’.
Where’s your favourite place in the world and why?
I once went to Kenya on a
safari, and this has to be my favourite place in the world. The
countryside is so beautiful.
Fun fact: I feature in a book called ‘Excursion to Hell: Mount
Longdon : a Universal Story of Battle’.
